Correlations are back again

Released: Sat, 06 Dec 2014 16:13:00 +0000

Salstat now has a new dialog for correlations. This allows you to test for the strength (and significance if you want) of several correlations: Pearson's, Spearman's, Kendall's tau and the point biserial r correlation.

The dialog works in the same way as the other tests except that there is no distinction between within-subjects and between-subjects tests.

How to use it? It's really simple. Once you have data, just open up the dialog and you should see something like below.

Then you need to tell Salstat two things: What tests you want done and what data should be analysed. Currently, it only does 2 conditions at once: If you select three or more, only the first two selected will be analysed. We're hoping that all combinations will be analysed in future.

And the results are displayed like this.

Like other tests, there's a 'quote' string in APA format that can be copied into whatever program you're using, along with a table of results.

The latest code is available from Github and feedback is welcome!
